CVC Words and Sneezy the Snowman

Over the past several weeks the children have been working on reading and spelling 

CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. 

 A variety of engaging games and activities were made for the children
to practice and reinforce these skills.
Some of the activities required children to tap out individual sounds

and blend the sounds together to read words,
then find the picture cards that matched the words.

Other activities were developed where children had to look at a picture and tap out

the sounds to spell the word.  Here are some pictures of the children engaged in some
of these activities during our Reader's Workshop times!

We also listened to the story, Sneezy the Snowman, and then did a 

fun art/writing project using a mixture of shaving cream and glue!
