Monday Morning Playtime!

It's so much fun to be creative while painting and playing with friends first thing in the morning when we come to school! Kindergarten is so much fun!

Mystery Guest Reader

Special thanks to Meredith Bollinger for coming on Friday to be our special guest reader!
The children had so much fun listening to two stories, Dragons Love Tacos and
Dragons Love Tacos 2 The Sequel!

Learning with our Third-Grade Buddies!

This morning we visited the classroom of the future to learn about Native Americans from our third-grade buddies! Mrs. Nawoichik's students transformed this learning space into a museum where the Kindergarten children had the opportunity to visit the museum exhibits and learn all about Native Americans.  Each Kindergarten student was escorted into the museum by his/her third-grade buddy.  After visiting their buddy's exhibit, each child was guided around the museum by their special friend.  Special thanks to Mrs. Nawoichik's third-grade class for sharing their amazing projects with our Kindergarten class! The children were so excited and learned so much!

Looking for Signs of Winter

Last Thursday we explored the wooded area near our playground with a naturalist from the Audubon searching for signs of winter! The children shared their background knowledge about animals in wintertime. We had interesting, insightful discussions about migration and hibernation, as well as how other animals survive during the cold winter months and what kinds of food they eat when food gets scarce. We also found evidence of animals eating acorns and bark, and we found some animal tracks in the snow! So much learning on our Science exploration! You might want to ask your child to tell you about our walk in the woods and what they learned. Special thanks to members of TESPTO for funding this Science program.

Outdoor Science Exploration

Dear Families,

On Thursday, we will be exploring the wooded area near our playground with a naturalist from the Audubon.  Please send your child to school dressed for outdoors, wearing boots and bringing snow pants in their backpack or in a separate bag. (All children should be coming to school with snow pants and boots when there is snow on the playground!) Please make sure your child also has a hat and mittens or gloves.  These are essential items for this cold weather! We are looking forward to exploring for signs of winter!

Thanks so much!
